Seine River High Flow Advisory – October 10, 2019
PUBLIC INFORMATION NOTICE
High flow conditions into Marmion Lake developed in late September and are expected to continue through October and potentially November. Rainfall amounts observed in Atikokan, Ontario during the month of September were almost two times the normal average rainfall. Inflow conditions of this magnitude during the fall season were last observed in the year 1941.
Raft Lake, Calm Lake and Sturgeon Falls dams remain in full compliance within their operating parameters as set out in the Seine River Water Management Plan. The spillways at the Calm Lake and Sturgeon Falls dams are open at this time and are expected to remain open for the foreseeable future.
All users are advised to use appropriate care and caution along the Seine River until high flow advisories have been terminated and levels/flows have receded towards normal conditions.
